Our Love Survives

One restless hot summer night 33 years ago, I saw him across a crowded High School gym. That night was bittersweet. We kissed under dim lights. Yes, I remember clearly. My heart stirred with emotion. I struggle to catch my breath as I sighed. I knew one day I would marry this boy. That boy with the beautiful green eyes, stole my heart and for the next 33 years, I wondered about him.
Fast forward to today, that beautiful man with green eyes has stolen my heart, once again. this sweet man still takes my breath away, like that first night so many years ago.
The love of my life, has a brain tumor - He lost his career as paramedic, helping others, due to complications of the cancer. I would swim the distance of the ocean & walk it twice to have the chance to win this trip for him.
I am also well acquainted with the fragility of life, born out of living with a chronic illness (Crohn's disease)
These diseases which on a positive note, has forced us to *slow down and stop to smell the roses*. We have learned to live with what life has dealt us, and try to remain positive always. Being positive has helped us to be the best we can under the circumstances
I can't even the words to express how much Kevin means to me, I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful man in my life. He is truly the sunshine in my life, the sparkle in my eyes. He has given me more than I thought possible. He has given me meaning, his heart & a love deeper than the ocean. Our love survives.

About Me ~

A few random things: I love the open road, moonlight, lightning storms, rainbows, laughter, a wicked twinkle of the eye, crooked smiles, winks, and kiss in the crook of my neck,  old movies, milk chocolate, Fluffy blankets, the smell of lilacs, the warmth of the sun on my face, blackberry pie, and breakfast for dinner. I believe that we are all forgiven and loved. I have an unshakeable faith in God.  I love, love, love my boyfriend.  No one can make me laugh the way my sister and brothers do, but *squishy* is a close second.  I'm a sucker for sob stories. I love the roar of the ocean, cupcakes,  candles, the smell of the earth after it rains, Bubble baths, belly laughs, and *ugly* cries are restorative to the soul.  Toxic "me" people unsettle me.  Happiness is a choice. I believe that the challenges in ones life will persist until you stop dead in your tracks and learn the freaking lesson the Universe is trying to teach you....BTW. Forgiveness doesn't mean I have to allow unhealthy people in my life, nor does it mean that any wrongs committed are "okay" what it does is allow me to move forward. The success of others takes nothing away from me...there is enough for us all.
